Spring valley

Is it spring yet?
To stretch his legs this time the Concierge visits a valley that transmits what spring is like, connecting the basins of Lake Montiggl and Lake Kaltern, a little more than an hour's ride by bike from the hotel. Spring presents itself with the first rays of sun and the temperature gradually getting warmer.
The extraordinary abundance of plants and their spring flowering have made this small valley a favorite destination for walks and outings. Since the end of February it has been a symphony of shapes and colours: white snowdrops, yellow primroses and the blue liverwort, aka common hepatica. Later the floral carpet of the valley basin is dotted with violets, anemones and buttercups. The Concierge reads all of this from the sign indicating the biotope.
On this sunny day, our sandwich with seasoned speck from our butcher Mair gave us great satisfaction for a perfect packed lunch in the absence of the local trattoria and restaurants still in seasonal hibernation. But what a breathtaking view this landscape dotted with a wonderful flowering gives us.
So the season is in full swing… what nature lacks is a drop of water from the sky.
